Urd is about Seselja and Cecilie, two women living at each end of the twentieth century. It is a book set at a small house in the farmlands of western Norway tying to destinies together. Lillegraven writes with time, as it runs through landscapes and people, the birth of a child, and the visits from the dead.

The texts flow, simple and clear, in short, concentrated chapters. The poems where Cecilie talks to her unborn children are truly impressive,
and it feels close, ordinary and magical at the same time. In this way Urd has become a book that breathes life into two human fates in the quiet march of history.

Endre Ruset, Dagbladet

In Ruth Lillegraven’s Urd, the threads of fate is spun with great ingenuity and wisdom (…) a little masterpiece.

Cornelius Jakhelln, Morgenbladet

A brilliant poetry collection (…) The story of Seselja is so strong and wonderful, so grippingly simple in its greatness.

Geir Vestad, Hamar Arbeiderblad
