Lina Wolff's "The Corpses We Planted" to be adapted for the screen by Alba Film
We are delighted to share that the film rights to Lina Wolff ‘s The Corpses We Planted (Liken vi begravde) have been acquired by Alba Film, a new independent production company founded by Swedish producers Teresa Alldén and Anette Brantin. The rights drew significant interest, and the deal marks the first ever screen adaptation of Wolff’s work.
Awarded the August Prize 2025 for best work of fiction, The Corpses We Planted has sold close to 100,000 copies in Sweden, and rights have been acquired in 17 countries to date. Lina is published in Swedish by Albert Bonniers Förlag.
“When Winje Agency and I were choosing a partner, we looked at many things, but in the end, it came down to instinct. Anette and Teresa’s vision and conviction stood out,” says Lina Wolff.
Alba Film describes the project as a stand for artistic freedom at a moment when much of the film industry is shaped by consolidation and caution. The producers have spoken of a vision that is uncompromising, visually bold and darkly humorous — “Kill Bill in the depths of Skåne,” in Anette Brantin’s words. Lina will also be involved in the screenplay.
We couldn’t be happier for Lina, and look forward to seeing this remarkable novel find its way to the screen in such ambitious and committed hands.
