Winje Agency expands to Sweden with authors Lina Wolff and Mirja Unge!
Strengthening its Scandinavian presence, Winje Agency is thrilled to welcome Swedish agent Sofia Odsberg to the team. Odsberg brings with her award-winning authors Lina Wolff and Mirja Unge, both published by Oktober in Norway. She has extensive experience in the Swedish literary world, most recently having spent six years as a literary agent at Norstedts Agency and ten years at Nordin Agency.
Odsberg says: “Born and raised in rural Northern Sweden where the foundation was laid for a life as a bookworm. I lived in London between 1998 and 2007, where I earned a BA Honours Degree in Writing & Media and worked several jobs, among them as a bookseller in Borders, Charing Cross Road. I am mostly passionate about literary fiction, from accessible, plot-driven novels to experimental prose. Therefore I am thrilled to join Winje Agency with its solid reputation for outstanding Nordic literature.”

The agency’s expanded team now includes Hanne Nielsen managing financial operations, Olivia Lasky handling international rights, and Thomas Winje Øijord working with contracts and the growing film rights division.
Lina Wolff was born in Lund, Sweden, and lived for several years in Spain and Italy, where she worked as a translator. She arrived on the literary stage in 2009 with the publication of Many People Die Like You, a collection of short stories set in Spain and the south of Sweden. In 2016, her second novel, The Polyglot Lovers, won Sweden’s most esteemed literary award, the August Prize for Fiction, and has been translated into seventeen languages. Her most recent novel, The Devil’s Grip (2022, sold to 7 languages) was also nominated for the August Prize, and she will be coming out with a new book later this year.
Mirja Unge has been praised for her distinctive literary style and has received several prestigious awards for her books, among them Tidningen Vi’s Literature Prize, Aftonbladet’s Literature Prize and the Aniara Prize. She made her debut in 1998 with the novel The Words Came from the Mouths. For the past decade, Unge has also gained acclaim as a playwright. Her newest novel, Dog Nights (2024), was shortlisted for the August Prize and recently launched in Norway to rave reviews.
We are so excited to welcome Sofia to the team and to start working with these two incredible Swedish authors!
