For the first time in 11 years, the prestigious Glass Key has been awarded to a Norwegian author—our very own Eva Fretheim for The Bird King !

The book was also this year’s winner of the Riverton Prize for best Norwegian crime fiction.

“I am overwhelmed and incredibly happy. This is more than I ever could have dreamed of,” Eva says.

The Glass Key is an annual literary award for the best crime novel in the Nordic countries. The prize is awarded to an author writing in Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, or Norwegian. It was established by the Scandinavian Crime Society (SKS).

The Bird King has now been sold to 5 languages and been on the Norwegian bestseller list for 11 weeks and counting.
