Pedro Carmona-Alvarez to Germany and UK

November 19 2024

Pedro Carmona Alvarez’s Chiquitita (Kolon 2023) is heading to Germany, where it will be published by the prestigious Luchterhand Literaturverlag and the UK, where it will be one of the first books the brand-new Akoya Publishing will be launching with.

German publisher Regina Kammerer is thrilled:
“This is a poem, not only a novel, a song about fear and fate, loss and longing, with a language so sharp and clear, existential and tender, that you can smell the sea where it all begins and feel the main character’s emotions from child to woman in the most moving, heartrending way.”

This award-winning book has now sold to six markets: the Netherlands (Uitgeverij Oevers), UK English (Akoya Publishing), German (Luchterhand), Hungarian (Polar Egyesület), Brazilian-Portuguese (Nós Editora) and Serbian (Blum Izdavastvo).
