In 1997, Jon Fosse wrote a feature film screenplay. The script, then titled “Bad Moon Rising”, has now become the film “Kjærast”, directed by Erik Poppe.
It tells the story of Asle and Gerd, who have a baby boy, and for a while, everything seems perfect. Asle goes to sea. Gerd stays at home alone with the child. How much can their love endure?
This publication presents the screenplay as it was when Fosse first wrote it, alongside a text by director Erik Poppe about the making of the film. The book also tells the story of how the screenplay came into being.
